Ionia County Shopper's Guide, 7 Aug 2010

Edward J. Mallek of Portland, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away
on August 3, 2010.  Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Connie
(Dembowski), loving children: Katrina (Jeff) Kalo of Sioux Falls, South Dakota,
Denise (Jerry) Johnson of Portland, Edward II (Nikki Guldager) of Fairbanks,
Alaska and Damon (Wendy) Mallek of Portland; 7 grandchildren Jessica, Sarah and
Katherine Johnson, Jennifer and Danelle Kalo, Elizabeth and Mitchell Mallek. 
Brother, Ronald (Betsy) Mallek of Weston, Florida.  The Mass of Christian was
celebrated Friday, August 6, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Larry
King, presiding.  Rite of Committal will be in Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements
at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland.  In lieu of
flowers, contributions be made to the “Friends of the Portland Public Library”
and Art & Environment Association of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
