The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, April 1, 1929

Martin M. Malone 76, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray Monks, East 
Washington street, where he has lived since the death of his wife, 22 years 
ago, at 2 o’clock Sunday morning after a brief illness of pneumonia.  Mr. 
Malone, a familiar person about Ionia, was downtown as usual last Monday and 
although he complained of not feeling well Tuesday morning, and grew slowly 
worse his condition was not considered serious until Friday morning when he 
suddenly became worse.

The funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ray 
Monks, 263 East Washington street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.  Rev. W. F. 
Kendrick will officiate.  The interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery.

Besides his daughter, Mr. Malone leaves a son, John, of Detroit.
