Thursday - Jan. 12, 1950 Mrs. Nellie Malone, 67, who was taken to the Ionia Convalescent Home on Jackson street Wednesday morning, died there Wednesday afternoon. She had been in ill health for about four years. Mrs. Malone was born the daughter of John and Elizabeth Shoemaker in Pewamo, May 10, 1882. The family moved to Lyons when she was a small girl. She was graduated from Lyons high school and May 31, 1913 she was married to George W. Malone. They lived in Lyons for 15 years. Mrs. Malone is survived by her husband: brother, John Shoemaker, of West Branch, and sister, Mrs. Peter Herbert, of Lansing. The body was taken to the Shaw-Rivett funeral home in Muir, and funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the Shaw-Rivett funeral home. The Rev. Myron E. Hoyt, pastor of the Lyons Methodist church will officiate, and burial will be in Muir cemetery.
