MALONEY, KATHLEEN:
   IONIA SENTINEL-STANDARD, MI; 10-7-1985:  "KATHLEEN MALONEY - BELDING -
Kathleen Maloney, 83, former Ionia County Treasurer, died Saturday evening in
St. Mary's Hospital, Grand Rapids.
   She was also a member of Belding City Council from 1977-81 and Belding City
Clerk for four years.
   She was elected Ionia County treasurer in the fall of 1938 and assumed office
Jan. 1, 1939.  She retired as county treasurer in 1970.
   Born Feb. 24, 1902, in Oakfield Township, Kent County, she had lived in
Belding for many years and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and St.
Joseph's Altar Society.
   SHE HAD been a member of Belding Business and Professional Women's Club for
59 years, was a member of the Belding Ladies' Literary Club, and of Friends of
Alvah N. Belding Library.
   She was also a member of the Michigan Association of County Treasurers and
Belding Senior Citizens.
   Her brother, P. Kenneth Maloney, with whom she made her home, preceded her in
death in 1984.  She is survived by a cousin, Thomas Droste of Grand Rapids.
   Rosary will be said Monday at 7 p.m. at the Huffman Funeral Home, with Deacon
Howard Scheid officiating.
   FUNERAL MASS will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Belding, with
the Rev. Raymond Oosdyke officiating.  Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
   Visiting hours will be Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Huffman
Funeral Home."
