                 DIONE MANLEY

   LAKE ODESSA -- Dione Manley, 87, of Route No. 1, Tasker Road, Lake Odessa, died
Tuesday at the 
Thornapple Manor in Hastings.

   She was born on August 16, 1900, in Campell Township, the daughter of Frank and
Ella (Badger) Stockford.

   She graduated from Lake Odessa High School and Western Michigan University. She
taught in Ionia County 
for 23 years and retired in 1963.

   She married Alton Manley in 1923 in Lake Odessa; he survives.  She was a member
of the Lake Odessa 
Congregational Church and the Association of Retired School Personnel.

   Also surviving her is one son, Virgil Manley, of Lake Odessa, two grandchildren
and one great-
granddaughter.   

   One brother, Boyd Stockford, preceded her in death in 1950.

   Funeral services will be held Thursday at Kooops Funeral Home in Lake Odessa, at
1:30 p..m., the Rev. Paul 
Mergener officiating.

   Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.

   A memorial has been established for the First Congregational Church of Lake
Odessa, in care of the funeral 
home.

   The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
