Mann, died at Evanston, Ill., January 2, the body arriving in Ionia Tuesday afternoon for burial in Oak Hill cemetery where brief services were conducted by Rev. F. J. Fitch. Mrs. Mann, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Morris, pioneers of Berlin township, was born in Jackson county, February 20, 1847, and came to Ionia county with her parents when a small child. She received her education in the old Sessions school, while her parents were residents of the district. While living here she was a member of the Maccabees and of the Woman’s relief corps. Her husband, Calvin L. Mann, spent his entire life in Ionia. He was a member of Company E, a company of engineers in the Civil war. Two children survive Mrs. Mann, Charles N. Mann, of Evanston, Ill., and Mrs. Anna Roys, of Oak Park, Ill., who with a granddaughter, Mrs. Gervaise Carroll, of Milwaukee, Wis., accompanied the body to Ionia. Two sisters, Mrs. Jessie Miller and Miss Hattie Norris, of Grand Rapids, Ill., also survive.
