Ionia Sentinel Standard, 6 Jul 2005

Spiro Mann, age 89, of Ionia passed away Sunday, July 3, 2005 in Ionia.  He was
born November 4, 1915 in Prishtina, Serbia.  He arrived at Ellis Island in 1924
after traveling from Serbia.  He married Jane Glossi in 1962 in Montclair, NJ. 
Together they moved from Montclair to Ionia in 1974.

Spiro was involved in the Montclair Operetta and Theater Club.  He directed
plays for the Ionia Community Theater and for children’s school plays.  He
received many recognitions for his work in the performing arts with the
community and school groups.  He was a past president and treasurer of the Ionia
Rotary club and a past City Council member in Ionia.  He was also an avid golfer.

Spiro is survived by his living wife of over forty years, Jane Mann of Ionia;
sons, Philip Mann of California, Curtis Mann of Florida; daughters Linda Snyder
of New Jersey, Dr. Nora Mann of New Jersey; foster children Kenneth Walker of
California, Tim Walker of Georgia, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and foster son, Steven Walker.

He has been cremated and at his wishes there will be no services.  Arrangements
by Lake Funeral Home of Ionia.
