She was born on Aug. 13, 1940, in Williamston, the daughter of O.D and Mildred Louise (Gaffner) Eaton. Mrs. Manning was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and formerly worked as a Religious Special Education teacher at St. Patrick’s Catholic School. She worked at the Pioneer Insurance Company and was a recipient of a Kidney transplant 10 years ago, eventually passing away from other complications. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Diana Schaible. Surviving are her husband of 37 years, William “Bill” of Portland; daughter, Colleen Manning of Portland; son Kurt (Kelly Gilbert) Manning of Lansing; stepmother, Frances Eaton of Williamston; sisters, Louella Eaton of Lansing, Carolyn (Gary) Pelton of San Jose, Calif., and Fredrica Eaton of San Jose, Calif.; step- brothers, Wilfred (Patsy) Gaffner and Milo (Pam) Gaffner, all of Williamston; brother-in-law Al Schaible of Lansing; mother-in-law, Gertrude Manning; brothers-in-law Dick (Janice) Manning and Jack (Laurel) Manning; sisters-in- law, Sharon Jean Wright and Jayne (Michael) Huhn; numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Shamaun Beas, Associate Pastor at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Rite of Committal following at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Tuesday. There will be Scriptural Wake Services held at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday.
