Lake Odessa Wave - January 24, 1983
          DORTHA LUCILE MANNING
   CLARKSVILLE - Mrs. Dortha Lucille Manning, 71, of 8091 W. Campbell Road
Clarksville, died Dec. 21 at 
Blodgett Memorial Medical Center in Grand Rapids.
   She was born on Sept. 9, 1912 in Odessa Township, the daughter of Ferdinand and
Edith Pallett Meyers.
   She attended schools in Lake Odessa and Woodland, graduating in 1930 from
Woodland High School.
   She married Sidney Manning on Jan. 23, 1932 in Ionia.  She lived in Clarksville
most of her life.
   Surviving are her husband, Sidney; one daughter, Mrs. Walter (Lucille) Heyn of
Orleans; two brothers, 
Homer Meyers of Lake Odessa and Arthur Meyers of Clarksville; four grandchildren;
two sisters, Mrs. Beth 
Baker of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Victor (Florence) Mead of Hastings.  One sister,
Stella Webster, and one 
brother, Floyd, preceded her in death.
   Funeral services were held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Pickens-Kooops Funeral
Chapel in Lake Odessa, with 
the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery.
    A memorial has been established for the Lake Odessa Ambulance in the care of the
funeral chapel.
