Ionia Sentinel Standard, 5 Sep 1985

Charles R. Manning Sr., 65, of 229 Pleasant Street, Portland, died Sept. 3 in a 
Lansing Hospital.  He was born June 22, 1920, the son of Thomas and Catherine 
Keilen Manning.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a retired production 
operator from TRW, Portland.

Surviving are his wife, Marie; two sons, Charles of Livonia and Thomas of 
Portland; two granddaughters; one brother, Frederick of Portland; and one 
sister, Mrs. William (Ruth) Hildenbrand of Grand Ledge.

Rosary services will be held at Neller Funeral Home Thursday at 8:30 p.m.  
Funeral mass will be Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church, with the Rev. 
Richard Van Lente officiating.  Burial will be in Portland Cemetery.
