Funeral services will be held from the residence Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. J. H. Bancroft officiating. Burial will take place in the Danby cemetery. Miss Alma Guernsey was born in Steuben county, New York, May 9, 1939, and came to Michigan at the age of 12 with her mother, settling in the village of Portland. In 1858 she was united in marriage with Albert Powell, who died three years later. Later she married Still Marcy and lived on a farm east of town on the county line, later selling it to Luther Nicherson and buying the farm now owned by Geo Erdman in Danby township. They lived there until Mr. Marcy’s death about 21 years ago. She had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Nettie English, at Mt. Pleasant most of the time, until her daughter’s death, last January. Since then she has made her home with Mrs. Kelly. She is survived by three children, Almer Marcy of Rockford, Emmett Marcy, Hornell, N. Y., and Mrs. Fred Kelly at whose home she passed away.
