Ionia Daily Sentinel, 23 May 1917

Wm. H. Mariette, 75 years old, died May 16 at the Soldiers’ home in Grand
Rapids.  He lived in Hubbardston many years, was a private in Co. D. Third
Michigan infantry.  Funeral at the chapel Friday and interment in Home cemetery.
 He had been failing and in the hospital department many [unreadable].  The
sons, Albert and Ben of Grand Rapids and Harlow Mariette, Albert’s son called
here Thursday, en route to St. Louis where several of his near relatives reside.
