Marin, 86, of 304 Hall street died Monday in Kent Community hospital. He was born February 14, 1892 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. Marin was former owner of Houck Plumbing and Heating company, was president and board member for 25 years at Belding Savings and Loan Association, a member of St. Joseph’s church and served as Ionia County water safety director for many years. He was the oldest certified Red Cross water safety instructor in the United States and had been associated with the Grand Rapids Golden Gloves Boxing Association for many years. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Schuyler (Mary Elise) Henehan of Kalamazoo; one son, Kenneth J. of Grand Rapids; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Services are Thursday at 10 a.m. from St. Joseph’s church with Father John Wisneski officiating. Rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8:15 p.m. in the Huffman funeral home. Committal services are Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Resurrection cemetery in Wyoming. The family will receive friends and relatives at the funeral home Wednesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Bearers are Arthur Clark, Dr. A. Joseph Andenno, Jack Middlebrook, Thomas Proctor, Larry Braman and Frank Parker.
