Matthew Marion, 68, formerly of Hubbardston, passed away at his home in 
Jackson, Wednesday, October 19.  His death followed a long illness.

Funeral services were held at St. John the Baptist church in Hubbardston Friday 
morning.  Interment was made in the Hubbardston Catholic cemetery.  He was born 
in Ionia county, near Hubbardston March 6, 1880. 

Those attending the funeral from out of town came from Jackson, Ionia, Sheridan 
and Carson City.

Matthew was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Churchill Marion, who 
died in 1927.  He was later married to Beatrice Fockler of Carson City.  He is 
survived by the widow, Beatrice, two sons by his first marriage, Vernon of 
Hubbardston and Vincent of Ionia; a daughter of his second marriage, Geneva of 
Jackson; also surviving are a sister, Anastasia of Sheridan; a brother Frank of 
Ionia and six grandchildren.
