Ionia Sentinel Standard, 11 Oct 2005

Pauline Marion, a loving mother and grandmother, age 89, of Ionia, passed on
into the hands of the Lord on Sat., Oct. 8, 2005.  She was born in Fowler to
George and Eleanor Hafner on August 8, 1916.  Pauline resided in Ionia all of
her adult life.

She is survived by her children; Beverly (William) Bellant of St. Johns, Linda
Collins of Atlanta, GA, Michael Marion of Ionia, Patrick (Julie) Marion of
Ionia; sister, Kathleen “Tess” Weber of Fowler, 11 grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Allen in May of
2000 and her brother Hilary Hafner of Fowler in November of 1995.

Pauline will best be remembered for her tireless work ethic and her love for
cooking, animals, and flowers.  During WWII she worked in the AC sparkplug plant
in Ionia.  She continued to work a variety of jobs simultaneously while
single-handedly raising five children.  She retired from Amway in 1980.  Each
Sunday the entire family would gather at her home to try her latest recipes and
her famous apple pie.  Nobody ever left her house hungry.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, October 11 at 11 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul
Catholic Church in Ionia with Father Mel Fox officiating.  Burial will take
place on Wednesday, October 12 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Fowler.
 Arrangements by Lake Funeral Home in Ionia.  In lieu of flowers you may make a
memorial contribution in Pauline’s name to the Humane Society of Ionia or SS.
