Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 20 Jul 1956

Funeral services were held Friday morning at 9 o’clock from the SS. Peter and 
Paul church for Frank L. Marion, 79.  Prayer service was held at 8:30 at the 
Stone-Kauffman funeral home.  He died Tuesday morning in Grand Rapids where he 
had lived the past five years.

Requiem mass was sung by the Rev. Fr. Henry Dondella.  Interment was in Mt. 
Olivet cemetery.  Bearers were Edw. Kilduff, Tim Sullivan, Lewis Hatinger, Leon 
McQuillan, Linus Rockey and Bert Hackett.

Mr. Marion was born at Hubbardston October 1, 1876 the son of Mathew and 
Bridget Marion and lived most of his life in Ionia county.  In 1907 he was 
married to Catherine Foley who died in 1948.  In 1949 he was married to Mrs. 
Mary McCoy who passed away in 1955.

For 23 years he was employed at the Michigan Reformatory and retired in 1947.

He was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul church and the Holy Name society.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Raymond Harlan of Benton Harbor and Miss 
Margaret Marion of Saginaw; four sons, James of Flushing, Lawrence of Toledo, 
Ohio, Donald of Paw Paw, and Kenneth of Grand Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Sam 
Huyck of Carson City and 12 grandchildren. 

Attending from away besides his children were:  Mr. and Mrs. Sam Muyck, Mrs. 
Terrance Lynch, Mr. and Mrs. James Kavanagh, John Burns and Jerry Burns of 
Carson City; Mrs. Dorothy Dailey of Palo; Marion Cunningham, Mr. and Mrs. 
Clayton Cunningham, Mrs. Coletta Ritter, Mrs. Mary Miller, Ken Templin and 
Stanley Olezak of Lansing.
