The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, June 26, 1947

Funeral services for Charles W. Markle, 66, who died Sunday were held from the 
Myers funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock with the Rev. Mr. Glass of 
Lowell Evangelical church officiating.  Interment was in Highland Park 
cemetery.

Mrs. Orin Schmidt and Mrs. Royce Waters sang “In the Garden” and “Amazing 
Grace.”  His bearers were Elmer Goodwin, Elton Goodwin, Burdette Goodwin, Ivan 
Goodwin, Bernard Goodwin, and Walter Tyler.  The Goodwin boys are all his 
stepsons.

Those from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Priest of Morley; Mr. and Mrs. 
Elmer Goodwin of Ithaca; Elton Goodwin of Lowell; Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Priest 
of Belding; and the rest of bearers, all from Portland.
