Mrs. Markle was born in 1869 in Ronald Township. She married Philip Markle in 1884 in Palo, where they continued to live until they moved to Ionia 22 years ago. Mr. Markle died six years ago. She is the last of a family of nine children and is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl Seely, one granddaughter, Geraldine Seely, a nephew and two nieces. Mrs. Markle was a member of the Baptist church in Palo, and later in Ionia. She had always been an active and efficient worker, finding happiness in her life and making those with whom she came in contact with know the joy of living. She was also an active member in the Rebekah lodge. She had been ailing for the past year and about 10 weeks ago was confined to her bed. A private prayer service for the relatives and immediate family will be held at 2:15 Sunday afternoon, May 13, and at 2:30 a public service at the Boynton funeral chapel will be conducted by Rev. F. J. Fitch. Burial will be held at Oak Hill cemetery.
