Marlow Blows Out Brains in a Supposed Fit of Temporary Insanity. The dead body of William Marlow, a well known south Campbell township resident, was found Thursday evening of last week in an upper room of his house by a party of neighbors, after the moaning of his stock attracted their attention, and caused them to investigate his absence. Indications were that he had been dead for some time, and an empty double barreled shot-gun on the floor near by gave mute evidence of the manner in which he had ended his life. The entire top portion of the dead man’s head had been blown away by the discharge of the gun, so that death was instantaneous. Marlow was unmarried and lived alone on his farm six miles west of Lake Odessa. He was somewhat of a recluse in his habits, and his absence was not noted by his neighbors until the disturbance created by his suffering stock aroused their attention. Inasmuch as he had no reason to end his life, it is believed that his suicide was the result of a temporary fit of insanity. The funeral was held Saturday from the local U.B. church, the sermon being preached by the Rev. Grisso? of the south Campbell Progressive Brethren church, and who was a near-by neighbor of the deceased, and the body was interred in the family lot in Lakeside cemetery. The deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Allarding of West Woodland and Mrs. George Ernsberger of Lucas, Ohio; also by three brothers, Wade Marlow, and Elmer Marlow of Carlton and Chas. Marlow of Marion, also by numerous other relatives and friends.
