Ionia Sentinel Standard, 21 May 1947

Mrs. W. Martha Marquette, 89, of Easton township died at Portland convalescent
home at 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon May 20 after a long illness.  She was born
November 25, 1858, at Campbell, Ind.  She came with her parents to Ionia in 1880
and married Frank Marquette of Ionia November 29, 1882.  To this union were born
two sons.  One son, Wesley, died in infancy.

Surviving her are one son, John of Ionia; two grandchildren, Earl and Norman of
Ionia; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held from Myers funeral home Friday afternoon at 2
o’clock with the Rev. A. R. Kuehn officiating.  Interment will be in Highland
Park cemetery.
