Ionia Standard, 15 Feb 1907

Jud Marshall, for 28 years a resident of Ionia and widely known, who moved to 
Jackson about two years ago, died there on Sunday, Feb. 3.  During the war 
Marshall was one of the slaves who found refuge in the army and came north at 
close of the conflict.  He was for some time servant for the late Capt. P. D. 
Cutler.
