Ionia Sentinel-Standard - July 1995


Mary Jeanne “MJ” Marshall, 76, of Crystal, died Tuesday, July 4, 1995, in Ionia.

She was born on Aug. 11, 1918, in Muir, the daughter of George L. and Louise E. 
Strong Shaw. 

In 1939, she married K. Arthur Rivett who preceded her in death in 1956. In 
1960 she married John C. Marshall who preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church off Ionia, and the Silver Guild 
of Ionia County Memorial Hospital.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, K. John and Jeanne Rivett of 
Sheridan; two grandchildren, Bill and Mike Rivett of Sheridan; one great 
granddaughter; and one niece and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one sister, Dorothy 
Morse.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the St. John’s 
Episcopal Church, Ionia, with the Rev. Scott Anderson officiating.

Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Episcopal Church of Ionia.

Arrangements are being handled by Schnepp Funeral Home, Crystal.
