Marshall, 83, died Wednesday afternoon, April 14, at the Ionia County Memorial hospital after being a patient there for a day. He was born in England and came to this county in 1912 settling in Ionia. He has lived in this city since then except for the past six years when he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. John Hopkins, of Lyons. Mr. Marshall was employed at the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture company for many years. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal church. He married the former Annie Elizabeth Tyson in 1889. She died in 1938. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Frank Harkness of Ionia, Mrs. Richard Walker and Mrs. Belmont Burger of Long Lake, Mrs. John Hopkins of Lyons, Mrs. Harold Thorpe of Saranac and Mrs. Elgin Smith of Grand Rapids; five sons, Tom Marshall of Pontiac, John Marshall of Manitoulin, Ont., Kenneth Marshall of Long Lake, Maurice Marshall and Robert Marshall of Grand Rapids; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Bill Marshall of Alberta, Canada. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Stone-Kauffman funeral home with the Rev. Fr. John G. Carlton officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery. ------------ Funeral services for Robert Marshall, who died April 13, were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Stone-Kauffman funeral home by the Rev. Fr. John Carlton of the St. John’s Episcopal church. Bearers were all grandchildren, Frank Harkness, Edgar Harkness, Robert Burger, John Marshall, Tommy Marshall and Jack Loew. Interment was at Highland Park cemetery. Out-of-town relatives at the services were Mr. and Mrs. Belmont Burger, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walker and Kenneth Marshall of Long Lake; Tom Marshall of Pontiac; Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall of Manitoulin Island, Ont.; Mr. and Mrs. John Hopkins of Lyons, Maurice Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marshall and Tommy Marshall of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Thorpe of Saranac; Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Smith of Grand Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Robert McNally, Miss Peggy Burger, Jack Rice and Mr. and Mrs. Donald O’Neill of Belding; Robert Burger of Grand Ledge; John Walker of Dearborn; Jack Loew of Lansing; and Fred Newton of Chicago.
