Mrs. Alma G. Martenies, 61, of 323 North street died Sunday morning at her home 
following an illness of several years.

She was born February 1, 1902 in Sheridan, the daughter of Edbert and Alice 
Underhill Buck.

Mrs. Martenies was in the market and restaurant business in Ionia for several 
years.

She attended Evangelical United Brethren church.

Survivors include her husband, Fred; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Priest, Mrs. 
Luella Meyers, Jean Martenies and Bernice Youngs of Ionia; two sons, Gordon Van 
Houten and Howard White; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two 
sisters, Mrs. Alpheeda Brown and Mrs. Inez Misner of Ionia; one brother, Jack 
Font, Sr., and her stepfather, William Font of Ionia.

Funeral service will be held at Myers funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m.  Rev. Ray 
Fassett will officiate and interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
