The Portland Observer, Thursday, May 25, 1916

Little Pauline Martin, five-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Martin, 
died Tuesday, May 16th, of inflammation of the bowels.  The funeral was held 
at the home Thursday,  Mr. M. W. Knolls giving a short talk to the sorrowing 
parents and friends, and burial took place in the Baptist cemetery. 

The relatives from away to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Friedly and 
son, of Vermontville, Leon Friedly, wife and baby, of Grand Ledge, Mr. and 
Mrs. Ezra Friedly, of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Jane Boynton, John Brownfield and Mr. 
and Mrs. Jacob Warner and family, of Lake Odessa.
