Portland Observer, 4 Jan 1905

Charles E. (Ed.) Martin died at his home on the Clark Pierce farm in Danby on the 
28th of December, aged 60 years.  Chronic heart trouble is given as the cause of 
death.  Funeral services were conducted from the house by Rev. Bouk on Friday 
last and burial made in Danby cemetery.  Deceased is survived by five children 
grown up, his wife, who was a daughter of the late Warren Peake, having died when 
the youngest child was born.  Mr. Martin was an honorable man, a kind hearted 
father and obliging neighbor.
