Mr. Martin had been a lifelong resident of this city and vicinity, having come to this place with his parents, when about one year old, from Ohio, where he was born. Until about six years ago, he resided for the most part of his time on the old homestead south of town, after which he moved to Belding. His place was a central gathering place for the neighbors in the community, and there are many who will miss him, and note, with regret the passing of a big hearted friend and neighbor. He is survived by his widow and one daughter, Mary, also by his mother, Mrs. Theresia Martin, and a brother and three sisters, as follows: Peter Martin, Mrs. Lena Engemann, Mrs. Charles Honson and Mrs. Mat. Scheidt, all of whom live in this city or vicinity. The funeral will be held tomorrow from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at 9:30 o’clock a.m. Rev. Fr. J. M. Zindler officiating and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery here.
