Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard - Tues. Sept. 13, 1955


Thomas H. Martin, 67, of 968 State Road, died at St. Mary’s hospital in 
Rochester, Minn., Monday afternoon. He entered the clinic August 24 and 
underwent major surgery about two weeks ago.

Mr. Martin was born August 10, 1888, in Ronald Township, the son of Robert and 
Elizabeth Martin. He was married to Anna M. Johnson in Sidney in 1915. One 
daughter, Marion Janet was born but she died in infancy.

After his marriage they moved to Detroit where they lived for 18 years and was 
connected with the R.W. Wood Millright and Construction Co. He also owned and 
operated a used car business. He came to Ionia in 1933 and purchased a farm on 
North Jefferson Road where he lived until April 1954, when he moved to his 
present home. During those years he combined farming and the implement business.

The body will be brought to the Boynton Funeral Home Tuesday night and funeral 
arrangements will be announced later.
