ERNEST J. MARTIN
LAKE ODESSA - Ernest J. (Slim) Martin, 71, of 4811 Barnum road, route three,
Hastings, died early Tuesday morning at the Veteran's hospital in Saginaw. He had been a
patient six weeks.

He was born December 29, 1892 in Sault St..Marie, Ont., and had resided in Hastings
the past 10 years, moving there from Ann Arbor.

Surviving are his wife, Velda F.; a son, William J. Martin of Hastings; and three 
grandchildren.

Funeral service will be conducted at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa Friday at
1:30 pm. The Rev. Paul Bennehoff will officiate and burial will be at Tuttle cemetery
near Ionia.
