ALOYSIUS "AL" J. MARTIN 1935-2017
Aloysius "Al" J. Martin, 81, of Lyons, passed away Monday evening, Jan. 30, 
2017, at home under the loving care of his family and Heartland Hospice. Al was 
born on April 6, 1935, in Clinton county, the son of Nicholas and Hildegard M. 
(Gross) Martin.

Al was a self-employed heavy equipment operator for 36 years, working mostly in 
the Ionia County Area. he enjoyed tinkering, snowmobiling and loved spending 
time with his family. He was married on Nov. 21, 1968, in Ionia, to Laura M. 
Meyers. Al will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Al is loved and survived by his wife, Laura; their children, Sue (Brian) Simon 
of Ionia, Alan (Connie) Martin of Belding, Andrew (Colleen) Martin of Ionia, 
Barbara (David) Smith of Lyons, Diane (Eriks) Troms of TN, Pauline (Kevin) 
Kasper of Lyons; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Theresa 
Jarvis of Lansing, Mary Ann (Cliff) Fowler of GA, Donald Martin of Dimondale. Al 
was preceded by his parents, his first wife, Addie martin; one son in infancy; 
and siblings, Eugene, Julius, Harold, Reynald, Bertha and Germaine.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday Feb. 4, 2017, at First christian 
Church of Muir with chaplain Jeff Johnson, Heartland Hospice officiating. 
Visitation will be one hour before the service at church.

Those desiring to do a memorial may give to the wishes of the family. Envelopes 
will be available at the church. Cremation services were entrusted to Johnson-
Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding where messages of condolence may be given at
