Sentinel-Std. - Saturday, Nov. 11, 1967

LAKE ODESSA- Mrs. Velda F. Martin, 59, of 270 South East, Freeport, was dead 
on arrival at Pennock hospital in Hastings, following a heart attack at her 
home Thursday at 6 pm.

She was born September 29, 1908 in Ionia county, the daughter of Jay and 
Elizabeth Stephan Hodges and was the widow of Ernest Martin.

Surviving are one son, William J. Martin of Plainwell; four grandchildren; 
one sister, Mrs. Almeda Barkley of Hastings; one brother, C.B. Hodges of 
Hastings.

funeral services will be Monday at 1:30 pm at Pickens funeral chapel in lake 
Odessa, with burial in Tuttle cemetery.
