JAMES F. MARTIN DEAD OF TUMOR

James Franklin Martin, 32 years old, of 1416 Roosevelt Ave., Flint, died 
Saturday in an Ann Arbor hospital following an operation for tumor of the brain. 
Funeral services were held Monday at Flint with interment in Avondale cemetery.

Mr. Martin was born Jan. 3, 1887. in Odessa Twp., Ionia county, the son of Mr. 
and Mrs. Wm. Martin. He was married March 3, 1909, to Marie Hildreth at Grand 
Rapids. To them two children were born, Franklin, Jr., aged eight years and 
Gertrude, aged five. Besides his wife and children, Mr. Martin leaves his aged 
father, one sister, Mrs. Lois Brown of Flint, and two brothers, Henry of 
Dimondale, and Forrest of Durand, and a host of friends. Mr. Martin was a barber 
by trade and a member of the Modern Woodmen and of the Methodist church.

James Martin will be remembered by many friends of Lake Odessa as his school 
days were spent here. A few years ago the mother was brought here for burial and 
the family have been more or less connected with Lake Odessa friends since their 
removal to other localities.

It will be remembered that the Martin's are close relatives of Mr. and Mrs. J. 
Warner.
