Ionia Sentinel Standard, 1 May 1940

Robert Martin, 79, died Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. at his home in Ronald.  He 
was born in Moneghan county Ireland, April 21, 1861.

Surviving are the widow, Elizabeth; two daughters, Mrs. A. Clifford of Orleans 
and Mrs. James J. Gallagher of Miami, Florida; three sons, John R. and Thomas 
H. of Ionia and George W. Martin of Detroit; two sisters, Mrs. Phoebe Carpenter 
of Bushnell and Mrs. Elizabeth Rudd of Ionia; four brothers, Thomas F., of 
Ronald, James K., of Ionia, William A., of Hubbardston and Irwin Martin of St. 
Johns, 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed.
