Blanche A. Martin, 88, of Fennville, passed away Monday morning at Holland 
Community Hospital following an illness of six months. She was born on March 
27, 1916 in Shullsburgh, Wisconsin to William and Lula (Snyder) Trebian. She 
married Henry Thomas Martin in Ionia on May 11, 1941 and he preceded her in 
death in 1998.

She had worked for many years as a waitress at Crane's Pie Pantry in Fennville 
and the Wooden Shoe Restaurant in Holland. She was a member of the Fennville 
United Methodist Church. Blanche enjoyed flower gardening and long walks on 
the beach.

She is survived by a son: Dennis (Jody) Martin of Fennville; a daughter: 
Kristie (Dennis) VanPlew of Fennville; four grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister: Viola Peterson of Ionia, and a 
brother: Paul Trebian of Orleans. In addition to her husband, she was preceded 
in death by an infant daughter, Suzanne and two brothers, Orville and Arthur 
Trebian.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville. Funeral 
services will be on Thursday, August 12 at 11 a.m. at the Fennville United 
Methodist Church with Rev. Raymond R. Sundell officiating. Graveside services 
will be held at the Orleans Township cemetery in Belding.
