Martin, 71, of Portland passed away March 10. He was born in Portland Jan. 26, 1931 the son of Anthony and Pauline (Smith) Martin. Mr. Martin worked for 25 years for Central Soya before retiring in 1992 and was a veteran of Korea, serving in the United States Marine Corp. His greatest hobby was making primitive furniture. He had a great love for his grandchildren, and loved his dog, Teddy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Judy A. Martin; daughters, Toni Marie (Harold) Edwards of Purvis, Miss., Lori Shelton of McLaurin, Miss., Renee (Charles) Pearson of Fort Drum, N.Y., Lisa M. (Thomas, III) Keusch, Kim J. (Kevin) Graft, and Dayna (Thomas) Gustafson, all of Portland; eight grandchildren, Emily Spohn, Abby and Lillie Keusch, Caitlin Pearson, Kirsten Graft, Joshua, Spencer, and Zachary Gustafson; sisters, Marilyn Murray of Ionia, Bernadette (Bud) Heinowski of Hillsdale; several nieces and nephews. Services were conducted by the Rev. Joe Robbe, Pastor of Mt. Hope Church, Portland March 12 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Interment of Ashes will take place at a later date. Contributions may be made to the Ingham Regional Medical Center.
