The Ionia Daily Sentinel, Friday, January 1, 1915
Word was received this morning of the death at Mobile, Alabama of Capt. D. W. 
Martin.  Capt. Martin was a former resident of Ionia and a brother of Mrs. A. 
N. Hall.  His mother, kindly remembered as Grandma Martin, died a few years 
ago.  Capt. Martin has been in the government service and has been at work 
removing the old spiles which were placed for blockade purposes during the 
civil war.  He will be buried there.
