Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Dec 1938

Mrs. Edith Martin, 42, wife of Earl Martin, 429 Allen street, died Wednesday
morning at the University of Michigan hospital, following a year’s illness with
blood poisoning.  Mrs. Martin was taken to the hospital three weeks ago.

Born at Stockholm, Sweden, June 1, 1896, Mrs. Martin came to the United States
in 1913 with a sister, Mrs. Paul Chulski of Los Angeles, Calif.  On October 15,
1915, she was united in marriage with Earl Martin by Rev. Robert Chapman, Pastor
of the Ionia Church of Christ, at the pastor’s home.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband, Earl Martin, and four children: Dorothy,
Lillian, Raymond and Larry of Ionia; her father, Oscar Carleson, and two sisters
in Sweden; and a sister, Mrs. Paul Chulski of Los Angeles.

The body was returned to the Stone funeral home Wednesday afternoon. 
Arrangements for the funeral services are not complete.
