Goes To Her Reward Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan were Her Homes. A Splendid Christian Life. Mother of the Late Harvey Marvin One of the two old lady sisters of Main street has passed away. She was stricken with erysipelas from which she never recovered. Mrs. Mary Marvin and Mrs. Sarah Robenault have been members of the First United Brethren church for many years and were always in attendance when it was possible. They have been cheerful and helpful in many ways. Mrs. Marvin although confined to her home much this winter was an example of patience. Many friends, both young and old, have remembered these two young old ladies and the fact the Mrs. Marvin has lived a sincere Christian life has been an inspiration to them in their remembrance of them Obituary Mrs. Mary A. Marvin was born Nov. 19, 1839, in Bucxs county, Penn., and passed away from us, June 16, 1930 in her home in Lake Odessa at the age of 90 years, 6 mos. and 27 days. She was the daughter of Charles Hill and Alice Hellyer Hill, and the third child of the family of four daughters and one son. She came to Ohio with her parents in the spring of 1844 and in October 27, 1857 was given in marriage to William J. Marvin. Two children were born to this union, Charles W. and Edward Harvey, both having preceded her in death as well as her husband who died in 1902. When a young girl Mrs. Marvin was baptized and joined the Baptist church where her parents were also members. In the year 1881 the Marvin’s moved to Michigan and since that time she has been a helpful and active member of this community and of the United Brethren church. She will be missed not only by her relatives, friends and neighbors but by the membership of her church. She was the oldest member of the local United Brethren church. “Servant of God, well done! Thy glorious warfare’s past, The battle’s fought, the race is won, And thou art crowned at last.” -Anon. The funeral was held at the United Brethren church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. M. F. Wolverton, the pastor, preaching and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mourer sang. Those present to attend the funeral from Ohio were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hill, Findlay; Mrs. Ed Arnold and son Howard, Vanlue; Henry Morehart, Vanlue; Mr. and Mrs. Jonas Snyder, Springfield; Mrs. Amy Smith, Toldeo, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Morehart of Warsaw, Ind.
