She was born on May 8, 1923 in Westphalia, the daughter of Robert and Anna (Gensterblum) Belen. On June 20, 1940 she married Samuel L. Marvin. Her entire life was devoted to her family. She loved gardening and cooking. Rose was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the V.F.@. Post #4090 Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel; son, Stephen; granddaughter, Asheigh Zimmer and six siblings. She is survived by her children, Elaine (Lee) Riley of Roscommon, Mary Ellen Marvin, Jane (Ron) Conley, Patrick (Teresa) Marvin, Ann E. (Bruce) Zimmer, all of Portland and Eric Marvin of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Marvin of Laingsburg; sister Bonnie (Ted) Rademacher of Westphalia, 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Feb. 24 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal followed at Portland Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home, Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Patrick Boiler Fund or Hospice of Lansing in memory of Mrs. Marvin.
