Marvin, 81, of Clarksville died late Saturday at Pennock Hospital in Hastings following an extended illness. He had been hospitalized five days. Born at Clarksville, January 9, 1893 he was the son of George E. and Carrie Hall Marvin and was a Clarksville resident most of his life. He graduated from Clarksville high school in 1909. He was then employed by an insurance company in Lansing eight years after which he joined his father in a hardware business in Clarksville in 1919, retiring in 1959. September 24, 1919 he was married to Marguerite Stadford at Lansing. He was a member of the Clarksville Bible church, life member of Clarksville Lodge F &AM, Order of Eastern Star, charter member of the Lions club and a member of the National Retail Hardware association. Surviving besides the wife are nieces and nephews. Mr. Marvin will be at the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel at Clarksville until Wednesday when he will be taken to Clarksville Bible church for services at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Elwood Norton of Clarksville and Rev. Paul Boger of Grandville will officiate. Interment will be at Clarksville cemetery.
