Samuel L. Marvin, 75, of Portland died Wednesday, August 17, 1994 at home.  He 
was born September 28, 1918 in Cadillac, to Samuel A. and Alma D. (Olmsted) 
Martin.  He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Portland VFW 
Post 4090.

He is survived by his wife Rose; four daughters, Elaine (Lee) Riley of 
Roscommon, Mary Ellen Marvin of Haslett, Jane (Ronald) Conley of Midland, Anne 
(Bruce) Zimmer of Portland; three sons, Stephen (Rhonda) Marvin of Laingsburg, 
Patrick (Teresa) Marvin of Portland, Eric Marvin of Kalamazoo; 12 
grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one sister, Luana Haner of 
Grandville.  He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Marvin and one 
granddaughter, Ashleigh Zimmer.

Visitation will be Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 
p.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman, Neller Chapel, Portland.  Mass of the Christian 
burial will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Portland 
with the Rev. Father Julian Reginato officiating.  Interment will follow in 
Portland Cemetery.  Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 3 
p.m. and 8 p.m.
