Ionia Sentinel, 15 Jul 1974

Mrs. Martha E. Mason, 83, of 3631 Dildine road died Sunday morning at Ionia 
County Memorial hospital.

Born in Ionia September 7, 1891, she was the daughter of Clyde and Bertha Mason 
Joslyn and attended the Dildine school.  In 1914 she was married to William 
Mason and they made their home in the rural Ionia area.  He died in 1934.

She had been employed by the Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company and the Mitchell 
Bentley Corporation until her retirement in 1956.

Four sons preceded her in death and the wives of two sons, Mrs. Mable Mason of 
Ionia and Mrs. Ethel Mason Bitely survive.

She was a member of the First Christian church, VFW auxiliary, and the Women of 
the Moose.

Among her survivors are a brother, Ed Joslyn of Ionia; five sisters, Mrs. Lulo 
Molinski of Saranac, Mrs. Alice Beechnau and Mrs. Iona Beechnau of Lansing, 
Mrs. Pansey Glossi and Mrs. Ethel Wood of Ionia; four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Christian church.  Rev. 
Harold Johnson will officiate and interment will be at Easton cemetery.  The 
family will be at the Leddick funeral home Monday and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.  
A memorial has been established.
