Aged Resident Of Lyons Buried Friday

The funeral of Mrs. Julia Mason took place Friday from the home of Mr. and Mrs. 
Jessie Stiles, distant relative living in Ionia township.  But little of the 
life history of the deceased is known except that she came to Michigan from 
Buffalo, N.Y., about 30 years ago, and has since lived alone in a little home 
of her own in Lyons.  She was the second oldest person in the village, having 
celebrated her ninety-fifth birthday June first last.  Interment was made 
beside her husband in the Lyons cemetery.  She was a member of the M.E. church, 
but on account of the absence of her pastor, Rev. O.E. Mather, Rev. Mr. 
Curtiss, of the Baptist church, officiated at her funeral.  She leaves a son, 
who lives in Buffalo.  John Pfeifer is the remaining nonagenarian in Lyons, and 
is looking forward to celebrating his ninety-seventh birthday December 26.
