Lyons Herald, 3 Jun 1920

A.W. Mason was born in Dayton, Ohio, October 22, 1850, and died in his home in 
Lyons May 29, 1920, at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 6 days.  He came from 
Ohio to Michigan when a young man, and was united in marriage to Miss Eva 
Wolverton in 1875.  To them were born three sons, Harry and Roy Mason of Flint 
and Vern Mason of Byron.

His first years in Michigan were spent in Evergreen township, Montcalm county.  
This was during the lumbering period.  After about six years in Evergreen 
township, they moved into Ionia county on a farm, where they resided until 
about four years ago, when they moved into the village of Lyons, where they 
have since resided, and where he died.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, the three sons and two grandchildren – 
children of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mason.

The funeral services were held in the home, conducted by the Independent Order 
of Oddfellows, and the body was laid to rest in Lyons cemetery.
