The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, October 10, 1962

Mrs. Maude Mason, 85, died Tuesday at her home, 6349 Lincoln Lake avenue, 
Belding.  She was born in Oakfield township, Kent county, August 14, 1877 and 
resided in Grattan township most of her life.  

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic church of Parnell and the Altar 
society of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. G. Edward Peterson of Ionia; three sons, Kayren 
and Martin Mason of Belding, and Kenneth Mason of Swartz Creek; two sisters, 
Mrs. Lena Smith of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Jerry Ward of Carson City; 12 
grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at Huffman funeral home Friday at 8:30 p.m.  Funeral 
service will be held Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at St. Patricks church in 
Parnell.  The Rev. Fr. Edmund Farrell will officiate and burial will be at 
Smyrna cemetery.  Bearers will be Robert Schutt, George Smith, Paul Ward, Gene 
Kropf, Arthur Dennis and Elmer Austin.
