The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, August 6, 1979


Jack B. Mason, 57, of River Road in Flushing, a former resident of Ionia, died 
August 1 in the Flint Osteopathic Hospital after a short illness. 

A graduate of Ionia High School and of Michigan State University with both a 
bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Mr. Mason was a veteran of World War II, 
serving in the Coast Guard.  He was also an active member of the Calvary Church 
of Christ, near Flushing, and taught school in the Flushing and Flint areas for 
27 years.

Survivors include his wife Joyce, two daughters, Gloria and Becky, and one son, 
David; and two brothers, Glen of Ionia, and Rayburn of Truth-or-Consequences, 
New Mexico.

Burial was Saturday in Sunset Hills Cemetery, near Flint.
