Martin G. Mason, 80, of 911 S. Bridge St., Belding, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 1990,
at his home.  He was born Oct. 11, 1909, near Smyrna, the son of George and Maud
Tully Mason.  He retired in 1963 as a milk deliveryman for Belding Jersey Farm.

Mr. Mason was a veteran of World War II, serving as Tec 5 Company F, 317th
Regiment, 80th Division.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hugo
Fales American Legion Post 203 of Belding, Cleveland-Wolverton VFW Post 3794,
Greenville, and the 80th Division Veterans Association.

He is survived by his wife, Regina, whom he married June 19, 1948, in Belding,
three daughters, Janet Green, Judy Mason, Grand Rapids, Susan Mason and her
fiance, Dennis Clockman, Comstock Park, four sons and their wives, George and
Sue Mason, Francis and Lynn Mason, Belding, Dan and Judi Mason, Comstock Park,
Paul and Theresa Mason, Lowell, eight grandchildren.  Also surviving are a
sister, Myrtle Peterson, Saranac; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and
Gladys Mason, Swartz Creek.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church, Belding,
conducted by the Rev. Father Charlon O. Mason.  Burial is in St. Mary’s
Cemetery.  Wake services will be held 8 p.m. Tuesday at Huffman Funeral Home,
Belding, where the family will receive relatives and friends today and Tuesday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph
school, Grattan Township Museum or a charity of the donor’s choice.
