        Grattan Farmer Passes Away

George W.Mason, aged 72 years and a long time and well known resident of Grattan 
Township, passed away at he home Saturday night following a long illness. 
Surviving are the widow,Maude; three sons, Kayren, at home and two sons in the 
army, Pvt.Kenneth Mason, who has been stationed at Page Field,Fort Myers,Fla. 
and Cpl. Martin Mason who has been at Fort Dix,N.J.; a daughter, Mrs.Edward 
Peterson, of Orleans, a brother, Lynn Mason of the home community and four 
grandchildren. Both sons who are in the army have arrived home for the funeral 
services which will be held this Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Fales Funeral 
Home, with Rev.H.S. Ellis officiating and burial will be in the cemetery at 
Smyrna.
