The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Friday, July 17, 1959
Jesse Edward Mast, 77, 616 Harrison Street, Belding, died at 7:40 p.m. 
Thursday at Belding Community hospital.  Born November 9, 1881 at Smyrna, he 
was the son of Albert and Kate Mast.  He was married June 7, 1910 to Vena May 
Cowles.  Mr. Mast was a farmer and bricklayer in Otisco township until five 
years ago when he retired and bought a home in Belding.  

Surviving besides his wife are a son, Charles Mast of Kalamazoo, one daughter, 
Mrs. Charles (Marlon) Wrung of Smyrna; four grandchildren; and one sister, 
Mrs. Cappie Potter of Largo, Florida.  Funeral service will be Sunday at 2:30 
p.m. at the Fitzjohn funeral home in Belding.  The Rev. H. S. Ellis will 
officiate and burial will be in Smyrna cemetery.

Funeral service for Jesse Edward Mast, 77, 616 Harrison Street, Belding, was 
held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Fitzjohn funeral home in Belding.  Mr. Mast died 
Thursday at Belding Community hospital.  The Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding 
officiated, burial was at Smyrna cemetery.  Bearers were Lyle Demorest, Royal 
Davis, Harold Johnson, James Cowles, Clair Compton and Louis Peterson.
