Tom Mathews, a lineman for the Citizens Telephone company, was instantly killed by coming in contact with a live wire. He was on a pole and was in the act of straightening out some wires, when his head touched a wire o the Thornapple Electric company, which was on the same pole. Mathews was about 30 years old his parents living in Grand Rapids, and a wife at Ionia. Only a few days ago he told one of his companions that he was going to quite his job soon.
